Memories of places been.
Dreams of places yet to visit.
Portfolio
Travel photography is my base, especially the more adventurous types such as scuba diving, rafting through wild rapids, 4-wheeling over old mining trails, backcountry snowmobiling, and more . . . it has been since college. My wife, Sandy, and I have wonderful memories of the places we have been; perhaps where you have been, too. I hope you see images here that may spark warm memories for you, too. You may also see images of places you have not yet visited, and I wish they may encourage you to travel there.
The galleries mostly tell stories about our travels together. A few images may have a strong effect on you, leave you with a lasting impression. According to Bruce Birnbaum from his classic book, the Art of Photography,
A “meaningful photograph – a successful photograph – does one of several things . . . it expands our vision and our thoughts. It extends our horizons. It evokes awe, wonder, amusement, compassion, horror, or any of a thousand responses.”
