Colorado is our most-visited state throughout the years. Beginning in the 1980’s, it is the state where we really learned how to ski, after a painful, ill-prepared introduction on a hill in St. Louis. We began yearly visits to the ski areas of Winter Park, Summit County, Steamboat, Vail, Purgatory, Wolf Creek, Crested Butte \u2014 sometimes driving, sometimes flying, usually with friends or family for sharing lodging expenses. As the century turned, ski trips became much less frequent, but we discovered off-road, 4-wheelin’ old mining trails, and expanded our trips to the summer (incredible mountain wildflowers) and autumn (golden Aspen trees). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
