The area features a variety of ecosystems, including rich hardwood forests, steep gorges, and rocky outcrops, providing habitats for diverse wildlife. Popular among hikers, the trails offer picturesque views of the Laurel and Snow Creek waterfalls, the two features providing the name for the area.  A short section of the Cumberland Trail is situated in Laurel Snow.
